Our Microbiome and Leaky Gut
Learn about the importance of having a balance of healthy bacteria, which is influenced by so many aspects of our lives – from what and how we eat, environmental toxins, medication and our levels of stress. Having the right balance of bacteria impacts our digestion, our immunity, our mood and our hormones.
Leaky gut is when our intestinal wall becomes more permeable, and food particles can leak in to the bloodstream – this can lead to disorders such as poor immunity, brain-fog, allergies, skin conditions, weight gain and autoimmune. It becomes a vicious cycle as with a leaky gut fewer nutrients are absorbed, and so we go on a downward spiral.
